Compassionate Kenilworth earn the highest award for voluntary groups
We were deeply honoured to receive The King’s Award for Voluntary Service — the highest award given to local voluntary groups in the UK. The award was formally presented at The Kenilworth Centre by Tim Cox, Lord Lieutenant of Warwickshire, alongside members of the Lord-Lieutenancy Office and local dignitaries, in recognition of the work our amazing volunteers do to support people across our community.
Following this, as recipients of The King’s Award for Voluntary Service, Compassionate Kenilworth was invited to attend the Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace on 6th May, the third anniversary of King Charles’ Coronation. Pauline Hayward, founder and Mark Dismorr, volunteer were incredibly proud and humbled to represent the charity amongst so many inspiring volunteers and community organisations from across the UK.
It was a truly unforgettable day, made even more special by the presence of The King and Queen, The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, The Princess Royal, and The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.
These moments are a celebration of every single volunteer, supporter, attendee, partner organisation and funder who has helped Compassionate Kenilworth grow from a small Covid response group into a charity making a real difference in people’s lives every week.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of the journey.
